Does anyone have good days, bad days and worse days? Like one minute you could quite happily enjoy life to the max and the next you just want to end it all? How do you stop that feeling from happening or better how do you stop that feeling from bothering you? I suffer from borderline personality disorder so I feel everything in one go. I was doing ok I actually finally felt stable but it hasn't lasted long unfortunately.
Any advice would be helpful.
Thank you.
Hi Catt,
I hope your mood has improved and you’re all round general well being is good!
Having been known To the mental health services for 16 years what I have found that helps me when I’m having a down day is doing things I loved doing when I was younger, before life became about work and bills! I’m a big sports fan so it’s always going to the park kicking and a ball or playing some basketball! The more consistently I go the more I improve! try and do a move I used to be able to do 15 years and keep practicing until I get! Set little goals! Eventually I start playing with other people and I think I can actually go pro (thats the bipolar CoMing out loooool)!!! If sports isn’t your thing maybe watching an old tv series you used to watch, maybe it’s Neighbours, Due South, Ally McBeal or Mork and Mindy! Everything is on youtube or the Dvd’s are real cheap (look in charity shops, there dirt cheap). Do what makes you happy, go back to or find a vice that keeps you entertained!
Living with a Mental health condition can be a lonely place if you allow it to be. As hard and as harsh as it may sound but we have to help ourselves first and foremost! All the support we get (and I say we as I’m no different in this forum) we must be honest to the people who are trying to help us or it’s pointless and you’re only really lying to yourself!
keep your chin, today is the tomorrow you was worrying about yesterday and remember tomorrow will always come! Take one day at a time, Be confident, Be great, Be you ! ❤️❤️❤️ Kof x
Hey Catt. Sorry to hear what you’ve been going through! I don’t know much about Borderline Personality, but I have been there with regards to drastic changes In mood.
I was speaking to my friend yesterday and he said that there are ways to help you manage your thought processes. He also said that it can take days, months, or even years for some people. But eventually it can help you because you can learn to read the signs and therefore act accordingly.
Maybe try writing your thoughts down? Keeping a mood diary maybe? I know that there are a lot of templates on google. Try and recognise the patterns and and the triggers. Once you identify them then work on actioning different methods to help smooth out the difficult times. I.e if you feel like you are dipping into a low mood maybe go for a walk, listen to some uplifting music, phone a friend or family member whatever works for you.
The main thing is to recognise your thoughts. Be honest with yourself and be kind to yourself.
I hope this helps
